State Tournament 2017

We, unfortunately, have to shoot on Sunday morning at 9:15 AND 10:30. The bus will leave PHHS at 4:30 in the morning. :-(  BRING PILLOWS AND BLANKETS!!!!

After the competition, the team will go to Polaris shopping mall for a couple hours. 

Make sure to bring food money for McDonald's and Polaris. Food at the conventional hall is VERY expensive.

4:30 Leave the back of HS

12:00 Leave for Polaris shopping mall (we will eat there too)

2:30 Leave Polaris

5:30ish Return to PHHS

 

MONEY NEEDED

As we have done for the last 9 years, we will have each archer pay their $20 entry fee. I would prefer checks, but will take cash if it is sealed in an envelop with the students name on it. Feel free to have the kids place it in my HS mailbox.

If you are riding the bus, please bring food money for McDonald's on the way down and lunch at Polaris.

 

TEAM PICTURES

I would like to get a nice team picture, available at the tournament, after the HS kids are finished. We'll get both a MS and a HS picture. I will pay for it and place them in the new archery display case I just reserved today that is just outside Mr. Sunderman's room. Mr. Biederstedt has permitted the archery club to use it for trophy display and I plan to place records, HOF, and various snapshots from the season inside.

A letter from Ohio NASP...

Dear NASP Coaches,

2017 Ohio NASP Tournament

March 18-19

This year’s State Tournament will be bigger and better than ever!

It will be in the BRAND NEW Cardinal Hall.

We will also have New Bales, Lane Marks, BAI Certified officials, and a flat rate door fee of $10.

Spectator Fee’s will be $10 and there will be no “pre-sale” of tickets. Tickets will be sold at the door where we will accept Cash or Credit. We will not be accepting checks. If a school wishes to purchase tickets for its spectators, they need to contact me at least 5 days prior.

Parking will cost $5 per day.

Doors will open at 7am both Saturday and Sunday.

You will be able to pick up your team’s packets the day prior, Friday the 17th, at Cardinal Hall between Noon and 8pm. Otherwise you will need to send 1 coach to come in the NORTH entrance to pick up the team’s wristbands, shirts, and rosters. We will not be handing wrist bands to students. Everything must be signed for.

The Awards Ceremony will be Sunday the 19th immediately following the shoot-offs. We anticipate this being at 6pm. We will open the doors for anyone to come back in starting at 4pm on Sunday the 19th. You will still have to pay for parking once again.

We will have Prize Bows for all the Individual winners. Medals for all of the individuals on the winning teams and trophies for the teams to take back to their schools. Please have someone available to pick up awards on Sunday as we will not be shipping awards.

We will also be handing out shirts once again. Coaches will be responsible for double checking their shirt inventory at pick-up and signing for them. Once they take their shirts away from the “shirt” Area there will be no additions and exchanges will be limited based on inventory. We will offer shirts for sale as well. In addition to the traditional NASP shirts we will offer custom shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and performance wear with custom Logo’s that can be purchased from the Vendors.

This is one of the busiest weekends of the year at the Ohio Expo Center. Busses will be allowed to pull right in and won’t have to pay for parking. All cars will have to pay for parking and will not be able to pull right up to the doors. They may be keeping the lot by the Cardinal building closed but I won’t know until next week. If this is the case, please be aware there may be a little bit of a walk.

There will be food on site. Cox Concessions will be providing it. We have asked for healthy food in addition to the snack type food. There will be no alcohol sales at all.

We will be opening this event up to Vendors. If you know someone who would like to be a vendor at the event, please have them contact us. We currently have

The Photographers will be set up to take team and individual pictures that can be purchased and shipped to you. These guys are amazing and are putting a ton of work to prepare for your event. If you have a team logo you would like to provide me, they can add it to your photo’s, just send it to me when you get a chance.

During the weekend we will be providing a live score update via the monitors in the middle of the venue and online. You will be able to scan the QR codes throughout the venue to see the updates as well as Visiting www.NASPOHIO.com.

We will also be uploading live video and live pictures to Facebook under the Ohio NASP Facebook page along with www.naspohio.com.

This year is going to be a great tournament and we can’t wait to see everyone again. Once again please email or call me if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions at all.

 

YEAR-END BANQUET

April 22nd at the Malinta Sportman's Club.

We will help the members set-up for the 3-D shoot Saturday afternoon and have our banquet inside their facility for supper. (They have a full kitchen) The next morning, 9-12:30, we are inviting all NASP shooters from NW Ohio to the club and will learn what a 3-D shoot is all about. It's another way for us to make a few more dollars and is a really fun way to shoot. MORE INFO TO COME...

Don't worry about church. If you show-up at noon, you can start the competition then.

Parents/families are very welcome to participate. It's a lot like golfing with a group of 4.

Archery :

Patrick Henry Archery Club includes grades 7-12. The season starts in October and ends in March. There are two teams; a Jr. High and a High School team. Last year we had about 50 kids in the club. We have two practices a week after school. Our shooting range is between 10 meters to 15 meters. We will be competing at local, state, and possibly national competitions. The club is sanctioned through (NASP) National Archery in the Schools Program. Below is this year's competition schedule.

Malinta Sportsman's Club 3-D Shoot, April ? (I'm working with Carl Sunderman this winter to determine a date.) We are considering having the year-end banquet following this event at the club. The building has a full kitchen.
